2020 was probably not a great year to sell anything, but I’ve compiled all of the numbers for vkei albums and singles that charted on Oricon in 2020. The incredible twitter ヴィジュアル系情報×楽曲紹介 @V_ROCK161123 tracks charting and sales weekly, so I just put together the info and worked out the release titles. Their data only includes releases that were able to enter the top 100.
If you’re not familiar with Oricon, usually releases from groups that aren’t huge tend to only chart once after release, leading to the figure only including the first week of sales. In almost all cases, the actual number sold will be higher than what’s recorded here, whether due to late comers, instore events or other promotions encouraging additional purchases, etc. But this is a good way to take the temperature of how certain bands or strategies are doing. (For example, the Raid. and BPR bands are popular as-is, but also well-known for their in stores events – pumping out singles with multiple types and requiring the purchase of multiple types to acquire instore tickets is why they tend to do better in single sales than album sales.)

DADAROMA’s Mister Terrorman lagging so badly in sales is a real shock considering in 2017 they were a band that easily pulled 1000+ sales.
