ETERNITY

music & lyrics / Hazuki

i won’t let go, i can’t let go
the flower that bloomed at the bottom of my heart

it’s a faint, pale world that’s lost its color
as if time has completely stopped

even the memories that slept so gently, deeply
hurt me now
hey, it seems like we can meet again

i won’t let go, i can’t let go
of the words i couldn’t give to you that day
i’ll speak them to your eyes closed as if you’re sleeping
so listen to me

i was living every day
with a frail, weak, unstable heart

gnawed at by demons

why couldn’t i hold you with these hands?
remembering yet
another anger, another regret

i won’t let go, i can’t let go
of the words i couldn’t give to you that day
i’ll play their sound to your eyes closed as if you’re sleeping
so listen to me

eternity
i make a single prayer to an empty world of pure white
i’m going to live, even if i have to do it alone and with tears
so look at me

an unbroken dream

even without you here
i can walk through time as it begins to move
intensely and strongly
until i can meet you again

i won’t let go, i can’t let go
of the words i couldn’t give to you that day
i’ll speak them to your eyes closed as if you’re sleeping
so listen to me

i won’t let go, i can’t let go
giving a name to the flower that bloomed at the bottom of my heart
when i look up, i see the beautiful color of eternity

a maddening blue

From Hazuki’s September 2015 tweet about the song: “This is a song dedicated to my grandfather, the man who raised me, and who passed away in January [2015]. More than mourning having to say goodbye forever, my anger, disappointment, and regret toward myself for being spoiled and disappointing seeps out from the sound. I never wanted a strength that can only be gotten from loss. I just want to tell him just once what I couldn’t say.”
