葉月 – Hazuki

Hazuki is a self-described “typical blood type B only child” who is lynch.’s vocalist and primary composer.

Birthplace: Kasugai, Aichi Prefecture
Birthday: December 10th, 1982
Height: 176cm
Blood type: B

Arguably the face of lynch., Hazuki is notable for his good looks and many tattoos, as well as his comedic personality on Twitter.

As the vocalist of lynch., he is responsible for all song lyrics (excluding A FOOL) and the majority of composition credits. Major influences in his style include: Kiyoharu/Kuroyume, LUNA SEA, and Pantera. Hazuki was the bassist on all lynch. recordings prior to Akinori joining the band, and is also a competent guitarist and drummer. He became interested in both bass and vocals after discovering Kuroyume and dropped out of high school at age 17 to pursue a career as a musician. His singing style is recognized for its beautiful vibrato in his clean vocals delivered in contrast with screamed vocals.

He has an unmistakable mischievous streak and has been called “the devil” by both frequent targets of his playful bullying, Akinori and former support bassist Junji. He enjoys many Japanese comedians and this shows in the way he plays with the audience in MCs, and in his banter with other members. Much like his lyrics, many of his jokes are somewhat crude, contributing to his impish image. One of his most famous and oft-repeated MCs prior to live staple song “pulse_” is asking the audience if they want to have sex, and he often plays around with call-and-response during the song where the audience chants “yaritai” (“I want to fuck”). This particular aspect of lynch. shows is probably what they are most famous for to visual kei fans in Japan.

Although many find him intimidating at first, he is has mastered the art of the subtle “gap” between his cool outward image and the soft side of his personality. He has a toy poodle named Marou (nicknamed Marochan) and is a bit of a grandma’s boy. He doesn’t eat vegetables, and likes Ghibli movies and Monster’s Inc.. While he describes himself as a bit of a trend-hopper, some of his longer-lasting interests include fishing, video games (particularly SNES franchises), running, and the Dragon Ball series.
