KALEIDO

music & lyrics / Hazuki

A kaleidoscope of constellations glittering at the end of winter
On the night the angels come down
a butterfly in full glory spreads its wings
and softly gives a kiss to an illusory flower

it’s an unfulfilled dream now i’ll paint your dream in the night sky
i’ll sing a song that will never fade
farewell, even if we can’t meet again, even if my tears never end
beautiful Kaleido

in such a cruel world
where nothing changes even when you’re gone
you took hold of eternity and the butterfly disappeared
as if melting into the sea of stars
softly giving a kiss to an illusory flower

oh, unrealized dreams i’ll light your dream in my heart and hold it close
i’ll play a song that will never be sullied
farewell, even if we can’t meet again, even if my tears never end
Kaleido, dazzling me with beauty

so that i can wake up from the nightmare

“they keep living on inside of us”
i’ve had enough of that, enough, enough already

i don’t care any more so smile, please
farewell to those dear days

oh, unrealized dreams now i’ll paint your dream in the night sky
i’ll sing a song that will never fade
ah, but we’ll forget anyway, because we keep on living
rather lonely, isn’t it?

i’ll light probable and improbable dreams in my heart and hold them close
i’ll play a song that will never be sullied
farewell, even if we can’t meet again, even if my tears never end
Kaleido, dazzling me with beauty

a parade of starry skies full of death

Sometime in 2017, a staff member working with or adjacent to lynch. passed away, and there is a chance that was the impetus for the lyrical motif in KALEIDO. Hazuki has grasped with the death of friends and family in his work before, so I believe this song is a continuation of that theme even if it is not strictly about any one specific person.
