lyrics / Hazuki
music / Yusuke
i close my eyes and flutter in space
falling backwards
the overflowing memories are so gentle they hurt
goodbye to this terrifying dream
ah, my heart is broken with nowhere to go
ah, my flame went out on a rainy May morning
i close my eyes and flutter in space
the asphalt is falling
the overflowing memories are so gentle they hurt
goodbye to this terrifying dream
ah, i wish i could have been a beautiful person
ah, i want you to forgive my ugly self
i close my eyes and flutter in space
falling backwards
the overflowing memories are so gentle they hurt
goodbye to this terrifying dream
if i could touch you with these hands
if i could wipe away the isolation and the darkness
even so, if this song reaches your heart
it’s because these are my unwavering words
i close my eyes and flutter in space
i spread my wings and float
the beautiful memories are so gentle they hurt
goodbye to this terrifying dream
In his 2015 tweet on the song, Hazuki wrote: “The tentative title ‘Melancholic’ was given to the song from the stage where I was sent the demo, which is a rarity. And then that became the theme of the lyrics as-is, and also became the final title. It’s not just a song about someone who’s chosen death, but the concept of what can be conveyed through someone’s poetry or song is all condensed into the C melody’s (“if i could touch you~”) lyrics.”
