roaring in the dark

music & lyrics / Hazuki

you must’ve come this far before you knew it
what did you cast away and what did you gain?
fearing losing out, searching for something just by screaming
even as you suffered, moving ahead was all you could lean on

you can’t see it with eyes consumed by pride
what lies beyond the struggle

even when the sun hides behind the clouds and you think of the rain
there’s light in your heart and a song on your lips
you forgot what you loves, and you were scared to dream
but you’ll kill this song with no answer to clear the way for a brilliant end

you can’t see a thing in this blackness without salvation
but still… there’s a meaning to your shouts

carve into it with your pain and your voice so that it doesn’t disappear, so that it doesn’t disappear
beyond is the meaning for spilling your blood and continuing to sing

so that somehow it doesn’t end just yet, so that you keep tearing down the darkness

This is one of the many lynch. songs that serves as a message from Hazuki to himself, but maybe one of the first to be so direct.

Hazuki had the following to say about it in UNDERNEATH_FILES VOL.3: “I think maybe the theme of ‘roaring in the dark’ is included throughout [THE AVOIDED SUN]. The concept of ‘singing’ appears in it a lot. There’s a lot of pain because of singing, but the things you can’t sing about are more painful. So I feel like the only choice is to go forward. That feeling runs throughout the album… Maybe consciously? Although I forgot until we talked about it just now. (laugh)”
