lyrics / Hazuki
powdery white snow dances in this colorless town
the sky is like lead, there’s not a single lie to be had
where are you going?
are you walking without paying any mind?
i feel sure that must be it
unforgettable memories remain beautiful forever
although they’re overflowing with a dream-like radiance
why does their gentleness now stab at my heart?
i can hear your voice, as if it’s letting me know it’s time to say goodbye
a beautiful, strong, all too fleeting singing voice
if we could have walked, if we could have lived strongly
like the birds that disappeared in the far-off distance
unforgettable memories remain beautiful forever
although they’re overflowing with a dream-like radiance
if i extend my arm i can almost reach, just a bit more
their overflowing gentleness stabs at my heart
i prayed hard, so hard that it will reach you
the song you loved
i can’t forgive, memories remain beautiful forever
though they’re overflowing with a radiance that wraps me up
even if i extend my arm, i can never reach them again
why does their gentleness now stab at my heart?
This 2013 song was written about K from Pay Money to my Pain, a close friend of Hazuki’s who passed away in December of 2012. The wintry theme of the lyrics is no doubt related to the season of his death. This song could be considered the sister song to “PHOENIX“, another song written about K in 2014. The title references a tattoo that K had on his neck reading “BE STRONG”.
Hazuki tweeted about these lyrics on August 11th, 2013: “The lyrics are proof that I lived in the same time as a certain friend.”
